Arctic Guesthouse & Igloos

Arctic Guesthouse & Igloos is in Ranua, a village in southern Lapland about an hour from Rovaniemi and a little over two hours from Oulu. Only part of the property is the draw here: ten movable glass igloos sit alongside affordable guesthouse rooms and a set of newer lodges, so you can choose how much of the Arctic experience you want.

Igloos, rooms and lodges

The igloos are the immersive option, glass-walled and with Wi-Fi in each one, made for watching the northern lights from bed. The guesthouse rooms are the budget choice. The Aurora Lake Lodges, completed in autumn 2025, are the premium option: lodges for two to six people on the shore of Lake Ranua, each about 40 square metres, with 30 m² downstairs and a 10 m² loft for extra beds, and a north-facing view. They are positioned for the northern lights and for the midsummer nightless night.

Facilities

Guests can use an electric sauna free of charge, and a restaurant on the premises is open every day of the year. Activities are run year-round with the partner Lupland Adventures.

Getting there

The easiest way to arrive is by taxi, and Lupland Adventures offers transfers between Ranua and Rovaniemi. Buses run daily from Rovaniemi and Oulu, and the partner operates a service from Rovaniemi Airport on weekdays. The address is Pappilantie 1, 97700 Ranua.
