Killeavy Castle Estate

Killeavy Castle Estate lies in the Ring of Gullion in County Armagh, set within 365 acres of mixed farm and woodland at the foot of Slieve Gullion. It is about ten minutes from Newry and an hour from Belfast and Dublin airports. The estate offers three kinds of stay, and only one of them is the castle, so it helps to know which you are booking.

The castle

Killeavy Castle itself is a Grade A listed gothic building, restored in a full programme of works, and it is available for exclusive hire. It is fully self-contained, with four double guestrooms, a lounge and extensive relaxation spaces. The guestrooms echo the original period style, with stone walls, historic paintings, rich fabrics and four-poster beds. Reception spaces include a private dining room and the Circular Library.

The hotel and residences

The four-star hotel is in a former mill and coach house, converted into a family-owned hotel with 45 contemporary guestrooms that look out over the estate. For a modern alternative, there are four dog-friendly self-catering residences within walking distance of the hotel, castle and hills.

On the estate

Facilities include the award-winning Elemis Spa, an outdoor hot tub, the Bistro Bar and the Gullion Restaurants. Mountain bikes and e-bikes can be hired on site, and the Slieve Gullion hills are right beyond the residences, which suits walkers and cyclists.
