Georgios Cave Cappadocia

Georgios Cave Cappadocia occupies a registered Greek (Rum) mansion in Ürgüp, and its pitch is traditional stone architecture combined with modern comfort. The “cave” in the name is a regional label rather than a promise that every room is cut into the hillside: the hotel describes its rooms as “stone/rock rooms”.

The rooms

Nine rooms are listed with their sizes. Room 101 and room 108 are 25 square metres Standard Rooms, and room 107 is a 50 square metre Standard Room. Room 106 (31 square metres) and room 102 (27 square metres) are Deluxe rooms with a jacuzzi. Room 103 is a 50 square metre 1+1 suite with a jacuzzi. Room 104 is a 55 square metre King Suite with a jacuzzi and a hammam. Room 105 is a 40 square metre Premium Cave Suite with a jacuzzi, and room 109 is a 50 square metre Presidential Suite with a terrace and a jacuzzi. The “Cave” label appears explicitly on only one of these, so ask which rooms are rock-cut.

Food and facilities

A rich breakfast with local flavours is offered. The hotel says its restaurant holds 20 to 25 people and can be used for special occasions, and that each room has a safe with a code. The terrace is promoted as a place to watch the sunrise with the balloons.

Practical notes

The hotel arranges guided tours of the valleys and offers help reserving hot air balloon flights.
