Cuevas La Granja

Cuevas La Granja is a rural tourism complex of 18 cave houses in Benalúa, in the Guadix region of the province of Granada, an area known for people who live in caves dug into the hillside. Sierra Nevada forms the backdrop, and the complex sits within the Granada Geopark. The hotel describes the clay of the walls as warm and the surroundings as calm.

The cave houses

Every unit is a cave house, so the whole property fits the category. The one-bedroom suites include Almaraes and Mundo Perdido. The caves have interior fireplaces and heating that can be switched on in the afternoon, so the cool earth interior does not feel cold.

Grounds and food

The estate covers 25,000 square metres of gardens. There is a swimming pool, open from June to September, a children’s playroom, and a restaurant that serves a buffet breakfast.
