Castello di Montaldo

Castello di Montaldo is a 4-star Superior hotel created inside a medieval castle in Montaldo Torinese, on the hills east of Turin. The whole property is the castle, so every room is part of the historic building.

The rooms

The hotel has 20 suites and 19 spacious, bright rooms, 39 in all. The setting is the draw, and from the rooms there is a direct way down to the spa. Guests can walk from their room to the spa in a bathrobe.

The spa

The spa is the other half of the identity. It covers 3,000 square metres of wellness space, which the hotel says has been recognised by Saunatur, and each sauna and ritual is guided by what it calls its sauna masters. Wellness packages are sold alongside room offers, and day use of the spa is also available.

Food and drink

The castle has a restaurant, Ristorante Du Château, and a wine bar, Enoteca Crotin, along with a panoramic marquee used for events. Events are a big part of the calendar: themed dinners under the stars in summer, holiday lunches, Halloween at the castle and wedding open days all appear on the hotel’s programme.

Getting there

The hotel is about twenty minutes from Turin. The hotel makes a point of the fact that you arrive from the city in twenty minutes and then leave the car parked for the whole stay, which suits a short break built around the spa and the hills.

Weddings and meetings

Weddings can be held in the castle itself, and the hotel also runs meetings with wellness add-ons, team building and corporate dinners. Ask about events on your dates when you book if you want a quiet stay.
