Bangkok Tree House

Bangkok Tree House is an eco-friendly resort in Bang Kachao, the leafy peninsula in Phra Pradaeng District just across the Chao Phraya River from the city. The accommodation is built in the style of a treehouse, and the property also runs a restaurant and cafe. It is a short distance from Bangkok but feels removed from it.

The rooms

Several room types are offered, and each is designed to sit close to the trees. The Tree Top Nest is a 40 sq m room for two that combines modern decor with natural materials. The Bee Hive Room, at 45 sq m, sleeps three in a three-storey building reached by an outdoor staircase. The View With A Room is the standout: 60 sq m with a king bed, a rooftop terrace and sitting area, and an observatory in an open courtyard with mosquito nets. A spiral staircase leads up to a circular, exposed bamboo balcony at treetop level, about 23 feet high. The resort advises against it for anyone who gets dizzy. Rooms have air conditioning, Wi-Fi and a set breakfast menu, and bicycle service is available.

Getting there

Cars cannot reach the resort. Drivers park at Wat Bang Nam Phueng Nok or Wat Bang Na Nok, and guests continue by bus, ferry or bicycle. An airport transfer can also be arranged.

The setting

The resort is a popular stop on the Bang Kachao cycling route. Cycling to Bang Nam Phueng Market for something to eat is part of the local routine.
